SPRING IN AUTUMN HUES

I feel like I can always connect with the warm and deep hues of autumn. No matter what season it is, I somehow manage to get myself dressed in these colors. I guess I can't resist the charm of rich burgundys and warm yellows. Then adding my favorite tartan scarf just puts it all together. It's the coziest accessory I have in my closet.

While I agree that there are colors that will stand out best during certain seasons, I don't think there's any reason to stop you from wearing your favorite hues. The color palette of your style need not be limitied by the time of the year. If your outfit makes you happy and confident, then that's all you really need before stepping out of the house. Plus a smile of course!

Before I go, these photos were taken from our trip to Seoul last May 2016. I'm currently editing the remainder of my photos, and I can't wait to share them with you. So please keep posted!

90's

It's no secret. The denim skirt is back with a vengance. And yes, I have obviously jumped on the bandwagon. As fashion has proven throughout the decades, every trend is in a cycle that's bound to repeat itself. I found that a lot of street style trends during the end of 2015 were decorated with 90s influences. I'm sure you noticed this as well. From flannel, to denim, to grunge...In one way or another, they have made a recent comeback. Whether or not the trend will live on in 2016, we can never tell. What I can guarantee though is that 90's fashion was made for comfort, and that is definitely plus points in my book. Also, I am digging this Rachel Green vibe, with the turtleneck and all. She was definitely an icon to look up to a few years back. If you ask me, I'd totally blend in with the gang at Central Perk. So, are you ready to rock your 90's wear or what? Let me know what your favorite trend of the 90's was. Or better yet, post your own 90's ootd! I'd love to see your take on it.

UNIQLO FLANNEL x AILEEN CLARISSE: FOR THE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE

by Aileen Belmonte
Flannel Dress/Coat from UNIQLO

One of the easiest pieces for layering is definitely flannel. That statement holds especially true for the Philippines. While I would love to wander around the streets of Manila in coats, capes, and faux fur, that is just not the friendly option. Flannel however is a lightweight and comfortable staple than can be just as exciting.

Since we're talking along the lines of style and comfort, UNIQLO is a brand that would surely come to mind. So when I heard that they concocted their own line of colorful flannels, I was more than ready to jump on board. While there were so many styles to choose from, this patched-up piece was one of my favorites. Was it a dress? Was it a coat? Heck, it was both! Of course I had to wear it as a coat. Paired with basics, it's the perfect focal point of any outfit.

So about this look,..Yes, a bit hipster. Okay, maybe more than a bit. This outfit got me thinking about taking a stroll along the streets of rainy London. With the red and blue hues, and the overall street chic/preppy vibe, wouldn't you agree? Now I have more flannel to feature, but that will have to wait for my next post. On another note, this is my last post for 2015. Sorry for being incredibly inactive this year, but it's been one of the busiest years in my medical career. Still, the past year has given me so much to be thankful for. Hopefully 2016 will open new chapters for my humble blog. Been thinking of an aesthetic makeover for my site too. Crossing my fingers!

Happy holidays guys! Stay safe and have a blessed new year ahead! Cheers!
